Alpine Pedal Path
The premier paved bike route in the Big Bear area! A scenic, flat, family-friendly path along the north shore of Big Bear Lake. ~3.5 miles round trip, free access, and fully accessible for bicyclists, walkers, strollers, and wheelchairs. Starts near Stanfield Cutoff (740 Stanfield Cutoff, Big Bear, CA 92314) and runs toward the Big Bear Discovery Center area off Highway 38 — just minutes from the rodeo grounds.
Fishing in Big Bear Lake
Cast a line in Big Bear Lake! Known for trout, bass, catfish, and crappie, the lake is stocked regularly and offers great shore and boat fishing. A California fishing license is required for anyone 16 and older. A perfect way to relax and enjoy the mountain scenery.

Big Bear sits at 6,750 feet. Days can be warm (70-80°F) but evenings cool down to the 40s-50s, even in September. Pack layers!
